Enter 2012 -With my meditation on the Regional Cancer Centre

The year 2012 – Meditation on my  RCC
At the stroke of the midnight
‘It’ll be over , our 2011’s fight
Welcome shall we 2012 with our full might
And  resolve to do all that’s right

To proclaim ‘here is twenty twelve’
Healing and hope we desire wherever we dwell
In the new year  joy and happiness may we find
As we structure the resources of our mind!

Chorus
In God’s own country, and Gold’s own temple city
Enter 2012 ,Corporation’s mischief, makes it stink what a pity!?

‘Career’ is what one is paid for
‘Calling’ is what one is made for
Ours is a calling , that’s what we at RCC believe
Our ignited minds at its service in distress to relieve

Pals and lokpals come and go
But we are here to stand up and show
Service & Integrity to  the Arwinds  and Annas in any vedi
And to that policewoman , whoever is that Bedi, lady?

Shall we to the netas resolve to prove?
That they need to improve
‘Ruling or opposition’ they play the same game
The wilder ones need to be made tame !

2011 saw many great souls depart of fame
Shammi, Bhupen, Dev Anand, a few to name
The voice of romance and the romance of voice they gave
Vistas of vision, passions and fashions, their paths did pave!

And it was a good year for all at the RCC
Awards and achievements were ours for the world to see
And the message of healing and hope we proclaim
With passions of touch aflame

Chorus
In God’s own country, and Gold’s own temple city
Oh ,2012 ,Corporation’s mischief, makes it stink what a pity!?

Noise of metal and mortar, makes us proud
To see our 10 story cousin rise in the crowd
But we  have a  greater reason to be heard aloud
‘Cause in the  3 ‘C’s- Compassion, Cleverness, Commonsense we abound

The other hospitals in the  campus have their noise
But the RCC is known to others ,’cause  of our voice
RCCs perimeter of Bogainvilla fencing and the manicured lawn
Guard the RCCs  heart, making others to fawn

To live with hope and in dignity to die’
Is what we give before the patient’s last sigh
Giving all a ‘good death’ they deserve
Is our calling to those whom we serve.

When pain is inevitable but suffering optional’
Shouldn’t we give our best before the knell.
Yes; these are humankind’s cardinal events
‘Yells, Bells and Knells’!

To ease pain with the ethos of care
Is our vocation with our time to share
With us, better do the suffering fare
Topping our efforts with a silent prayer.

The RCC has more potential for rhyme
If only I had the time
Sipping tea on 31st 2011 and ten minutes of my time
I needed to welcome 2012 in its prime.
